Teen, 17, seriously injured in assault at juvenile center

Malicious Wounding – On October 21 at 6:00PM, officers responded to investigate an assault that was reported to have occurred at the Prince William Juvenile Detention Center (JDC) located at 14873 Dumfries Rd. in Manassas (20112) earlier that day. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 17-year-old male juvenile inmate, was in a common area within the facility when another inmate, identified as the accused, began assaulting him. During the encounter, the victim was struck several times in the head and face. The parties were eventually separated by staff. The victim was transported to an area hospital with significant injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as a 15-year-old male juvenile, was charged.

Man, woman charged with child neglect involving baby

On January 10 at 11:12PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a parking lot located in the 14400 block of Gideon Dr. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a child neglect. The investigation revealed that the driver and the occupant of the vehicle were under the influence of alcohol and suspected narcotics. An 11-month-old boy was also inside of the vehicle and was not injured.
