Suspect in June 2017 Woodbridge VA case arrested after nearly a year

Prince William County Police report that on May 8, Gabriel ESTRADA BENITEZ, who was wanted for a domestic assault at a residence located in the 14700 block of Winding Lp in Woodbridge on June 20, 2017, was arrested in Fairfax, said Officer Nathan Probus, police department spokesman.

Gabriel ESTRADA BENITEZ, 37, of no fixed address
Charged with strangulation and domestic assault & battery
Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT bond

Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery [Previously Released] – On June 20, 2017 at 11:02PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14700 block of Winding Lp in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic. The victim, a 26-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation, which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim then placed his hands around her neck choking her. The victim was eventually able to break free and contacted police. The accused fled the residence prior to officers arriving. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused, identified as Gabriel ESTRADA BENITEZ.  Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.
