Shootings in Occoquan investigated; Woodbridge walker struck with BB pellet

**INCIDENTS**

Shooting Investigation – On July 12 at 10:30PM, officers responded to the area of Colonial Dr and Washington St in Occoquan (22125) to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived, they located an unoccupied vehicle that had sustained extensive damage and appeared to have been struck multiple times by bullets. Additional officers responded and began checking the area for possible victims.  Two victims, a male juvenile and female juvenile, were located at a nearby residence. Both victims sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to an area hospital for treatment. The victims’ injuries were non-life threatening. The investigation revealed that there were four total occupants inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting, including the two juvenile victims. A helicopter was requested to search for the two other occupants who were not immediately located. Detectives later located one of those occupants who was determined to be uninjured from the incident. The remaining occupant remains unknown. The incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.

Malicious Wounding – On July 12 at 9:32PM, officers responded to the 1400 block of Walnut St in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shooting involving a BB gun. The victim, a 36-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was walking in the above area when an older model, tan sedan passed her. As the vehicle passed, the victim heard multiple popping sounds. Moments later, the victim realized she was struck in the abdomen by a BB pellet. The vehicle continued down Walnut St without stopping. The victim was unable to describe the occupant inside the sedan or if the shots came from the vehicle. Minor injuries were reported.
