PWC Police investigate shooting at Woodbridge camp for homeless people

Incidents and arrests released on Monday, Oct. 26, 2015

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery– On October 23rd at 8:29PM, officers responded to the 8600 block of Parkland St in Manassas (20111) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 22 year old man of Silverspring, reported to police that he was approached by two unknown males who brandished a firearm then demanded money from the victim. The suspects then fled the area in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported and no property was reported missing. Officers checked the surrounding area for the suspects who were not located.
Suspect Descriptions:
White male, 45 to 50 years of age, 5’08’’, 165lbs with brown hair and brown eyes
Last seen wearing a black leather jacket and black pants

Black male, 30 to 32 years of age, 6’00’’, 120lbs with brown hair and brown eyes
Last seen wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt and blue jeans

Male of an unknown race– no further description
Last seen wearing a dark sweatshirt and blue jeans

Strong Armed Robbery – On October 25th at 1:16AM, officers responded to the 14400 block of Artery Ln in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 39 year old man of Dumfries, reported to police that he was making a pizza delivery to an apartment in the above area. After making the delivery, the victim was walking to his vehicle when he was approached by three unknown men. During the encounter, one of the men demanded money and the victim’s vehicle. The victim was eventually able to get away from the suspects and contact police. The suspects took the victim’s pizza and flash light before fleeing on foot. Minor injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects who were not located.

Attempted Armed Robbery – On October 24th at 12:41AM, officers responded to the area of Whitehall Dr and Stone Ridge Dr in Manassas (20111) to investigate an attempted robbery. The victims, a 37 year old man, 18 year old man, and 14 year old male juvenile all of Manassas, reported to police that they were walking in the above area when they were approached by two unknown men. During the encounter, the suspects brandished a firearm then demanded money from the victims. The suspects then fled the area in a white Chevy Impala. No injuries were reported and no property was reported missing.
Suspect Descriptions:
Black male, between 18 & 25 years age, 6’03”, 170lbs with thin builds, black hair and brown eyes

Residential Burglary – On October 25th at 4:53PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 9800 block of Hynson Dr in Manassas (20111) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 9:30AM and 3:00PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made into the home through an unsecured window. A gaming console was reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On October 25th at 11:43AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1300 block of Shenvale Cir in Bristow (20136) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that sometime between 9:00AM and 2:00PM, entry was attempted into the home through a rear door which was found damaged. No entry was made and no property was reported missing. 

**ARRESTS**
Aggravated Malicious Wounding - On October 23rd at 10:46 PM, officers responded to a homeless camp located behind the 14400 block of Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting.  The investigation revealed that the victim, a 28 year old man of Woodbridge, and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated.  During the encounter, the accused shot the victim in the face. The accused fled prior to police arriving in the area. A police K9 was used to search for the accused who was not located. The victim was flown to an area hospital with serious, life threatening injuries.  The accused was eventually located and arrested without incident later that evening.

Charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Attempted Malicious Wounding | Officer Involved Shooting- On October 23rd at 9:43 PM, officers responded to the 11900 block of Hilltop Dr in Manassas (20112) to investigate a domestic. The victim, a 44 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim in the head. When a family member, a 44 year old man of Manassas, attempted to intervene, the accused attempted to stab him. The parties eventually separated and the suspect fled on foot along with a pit pull belonging to the female victim into the nearby woods. While searching the woods for the accused, a police K9 and officers encountered the dog in the area of McGrath Rd, where it charged aggressively twice at the police K9 and officers. As a result, the dog was shot by one of the officers and died at the scene. The suspect was then taken into custody without further incident. Minor injuries were reported only to the victim. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Charged with attempted malicious wounding, domestic assault & battery, and grand larceny

Narcotics Investigation – On October 23rd, detectives from the Prince William-Manassas City-Manassas Park Narcotics Task Force concluded a month-long investigation into the distribution of suspected heroin with the execution of two search warrants at “Jaz Cutz” Barber Shop located at 9103 Center St in Manassas City and a residence located at 9924 Shallow Creek Loop #101 in Prince William County. Detectives received information through tips received in September of this year about the narcotic distribution. Though the investigation, detectives identified two suspects and executed both search warrants at the below addresses on October 23rd. As a result of the searches, evidence of drug distribution including drug paraphernalia and an undisclosed amount of money were recovered. Both suspects, identified as Derrick WILLIAMS and Torre MIDDLETON were also arrested without incident.
