PWC Police investigate burglaries at Chinese restaurants

Incidents and arrests released on Tuesday, September 8, 2015

**INCIDENTS**

Commercial Burglary – On September 7th at 10:00AM, officers responded to the China King Buffet located at 14345 Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The business owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 10:15PM on September 6th and 10:00AM on September 7th. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the business through a front glass door which was found shattered.  An undisclosed amount of money was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On September 6th at 11:40AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 11200 block of Lady Jane Lp in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary. A resident of the apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred between 1:30AM and 7:30AM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the apartment.  A cell phone and wallet were reported missing.

Commercial Burglary – On September 4th at 10:15AM, officers responded to the Chinese Imperial Restaurant located at 7823 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary. The business owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 10:00PM on September 3rd and 10:00Am on September 4th. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the business through a front glass door which was found shattered.  An undisclosed amount of money was reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On September 8th at 12:48AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 14100 block of Bay Vista Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that she heard a noise coming from the front door around 12:00AM. The investigation revealed that entry was attempted into the apartment through the front door which was found damaged. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On September 7th at 4:59AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 9300 block of Crossed Sabres Ct in Manassas (20111) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that sometime between 5:00AM on August 8th and 9:30AM on September 7th, entry was attempted into the residence through rear door which was found damaged. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Sexual Assault – On September 5th at 5:20PM, detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at an apartment located in the 10600 block of Blendia Ln in Manassas (20110). The victim, a 16 year old female juvenile of Manassas, reported to police that she was raped by the accused, a known acquaintance, that afternoon. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as a juvenile, was arrested.

A 16 year old male juvenile of Manassas
Charged with rape
Court date: pending | Status: held at the Juvenile Detention Center

Attempted Malicious Wounding | Abduction – On September 7th at 9:18PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14900 block of Alaska Rd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic altercation. The victim, a 35 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that around 8:30AM, the accused, a known acquaintance, entered the residence uninvited through an unsecured rear sliding glass door. Once inside the home, the accused went to an upper floor where he pulled out a knife and made verbal threats to the victim. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim in the head. At one point, both parties drove to a nearby convenience store where the victim attempted to get out of the vehicle and flee from the accused. The accused stopped the victim and wrapped his arm around her neck before forcing her back in to the vehicle. Both parties returned to the residence where the victim attempted to flee a second time. The accused was able to catch up to the victim and forcibly dragged her back to the residence and remained with the accused until police were eventually contacted and responded to the home. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Alvin Keith BURTCH, 31, of 1332 Franklin Ave in Pittsburgh, PA
Charged with abduction, attempted malicious wounding, burglary and domestic assault & battery
Court date: pending | Bond: held WITHOUT bond

Indecent Exposure – On September 6th at 6:49PM, officers responded to the Wal-Mart located at 8386 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate an indecent exposure. Store security reported to police that an unknown man, later identified as the accused, was walking through the parking lot exposing himself to other patrons. Security approached the accused and asked him to leave which he refused. Officers arrived at the location and detained the accused without further incident. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Alfanzo Victor MORENO, 24, of no fixed address
Charged with indecent exposure and trespassing
Court date: September 28, 2015 | Bond: $10,000 unsecured
