PWC Police Department’s Incident Report for Aug. 20, 2022 - Fatal car crash in Woodbridge
Fatal Crash Investigation – On Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 11:24AM, investigators from the Prince William County Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of River Rock Way and Potomac Center Blvd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a single vehicle crash. The investigation revealed the driver of a 2021 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling north on Potomac Center Blvd when the driver drove onto the center grass median and entered the intersection of River Rock Way before leaving the roadway and striking a retaining wall.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to an area hospital where he died as a result of his injuries sustained in the crash. No other occupants were in the vehicle. The driver was not wearing a seat belt. Speed and drug use appear to be factors in the collision, according to the police accident report.
