PWC Police Department’s Crime Report for Aug. 4 2022 -  Final suspect in July 18 shooting arrested

• Aggravated Malicious Wounding *ADDITIONAL ARREST –
On August 2, 2022 the final suspect sought in connection to the shooting that occurred at the Elevations One Apartments located in the 14300 block of Jeffries Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) on July 18, was arrested. The accused, identified as Maurice Eric SOWERS IV, was located, and taken into custody by members of the Manassas City Police Department. Two other men were previously arrested in connection to this investigation on July 22.

Charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and assault & battery

Aggravated Malicious Wounding *SUSPECTS IDENTIFIED | ARRESTS [Previously Released] – On July 22, detectives identified three men in connection to the shooting that occurred at the Elevations One Apartments located in the 14300 block of Jeffries Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) on July 18. During the encounter, a 38-year-old man sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The investigation revealed the altercation stemmed from ongoing dispute between the man and other known parties. Following the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for the suspects. Two of the suspects, Emerson Titus MCALLISTER and Daniele DEPAOLIS have been arrested. The third suspect, identified as Maurice Eric SOWERS IV, remains wanted.

Shooting Investigation [Previously Released] – On July 18 at 9:11PM, officers responded to the Elevations One Apartments located in the 14300 block of Jeffries Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shooting with injuries. Upon arriving in the area, officers located a 38-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers provided immediate first aid to the man until rescue personnel arrived and transported him to an area hospital where his injuries were determined to be life-threatening. The investigation revealed two groups of individuals were in the above area when a verbal altercation escalated physically. At one point during the altercation, a member of one of the groups brandished a firearm before firing a round, striking the man located by police. Shortly after the shooting, another member of the same group also brandished a gun towards the other group. Several individuals dispersed as police were contacted. While investigating the incident, officers were informed members of the group who brandished the firearm fled in a vehicle. Officers located the unoccupied suspect vehicle a short distance away from the above location. A police K-9 and helicopter assistance from Fairfax County police searched the area for the suspects who were not located. No additional injuries or property damage were reported. Multiple individuals were on scene and were not cooperative with police. At this time, the incident does not appear to be random.

• Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related *ARREST – On August 3, 2022 the suspect sought in connection to the domestic that occurred in the Quantico Court Apartments located in the 19000 block of Fuller Heights Rd. in Triangle (22172) on August 3, 2022 was arrested. The accused, identified as Jaharii Kwame UNDERWOOD, was taken into custody without incident.

Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related [Previously Released] – On August 3 at 1:10AM, officers responded to the Quantico Court Apartments located in the 19000 block of Fuller Heights Rd. in Triangle (22172) to investigate a domestic. The investigation revealed the victim, a 34-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused prevented the victim from leaving the apartment. In addition, the accused struck the victim before he bit her on the leg. Eventually, the accused left the apartment, and the victim contacted the police. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Jaharii Kwame UNDERWOOD. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

INCIDENTS
• Malicious Wounding –
On August 3, 2022 at 7:46PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the McDonald’s located at 10730 Balls Ford Rd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a fight with weapons. Upon arriving in the parking lot of the business, officers observed the victim, a 44-year-old man, suffering from a head injury. Rescue personnel responded and transported the victim to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation revealed the victim was inside the restaurant when he observed an acquaintance, identified as the accused, going into his unsecured vehicle in the parking lot. The victim confronted the accused and a verbal altercation escalated when the accused brandished a firearm. During the encounter, the accused physically struck the victim with the firearm and then fled the area. No property was reported missing from the victim’s vehicle. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Keith Avery DIAL Jr. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

Described as a black male, 5’10”, 220lbs., with short black hair and brown eyes
Wanted for malicious wounding, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and brandishing

ARRESTS
• Sexual Assault Investigation –
On July 29, 2022 detectives with the Prince William County Police Department’s Special Victims Bureau concluded an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred in the Woodbridge (22191) area of Prince William County between April 1 and May 31. The investigation began in June when the victim, a 14-year-old female juvenile, reported the incident.
The investigation revealed a family member, identified as the accused, solicited the victim for an inappropriate picture. The accused then lured the victim from her home and sexually assaulted her. The victim eventually reported the incident to a family member who contacted the police. Following the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Zaqueo Malaquias LOPEZ COLOP. On July 29, the accused was located in Fairfax County and taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
