PWC Police Department’s Crime Report for Aug. 25, 2022 - Two charged in assaults

ARRESTS
• Abduction | Domestic Related – On Monday, August 22, 2022 at 11:29PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 12300 block of Oakwood Dr. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic.
The investigation revealed that earlier in the day, the victim, a 42-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused threw the victim into the couch before grabbing and pinning her against a wall. The victim was able to separate from the accused and go onto the balcony of the residence where she began to yell for help. The accused then grabbed the victim and prevented her from leaving the residence. Eventually, the accused left the room, and the victim was able to leave the residence and contacted the police later that evening. No injuries were reported.
Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Richard William BARBEE. On August 24, the accused turned himself in to police without incident.

• Assault & Battery on an Adult Detention Center Officer – On Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 3:02AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Prince William-Manassas Adult Detention Center [ADC] located at 9320 Lee Ave in Manassas (20110) to investigate an assault on a staff member.
The investigation revealed that an inmate of the facility, identified as the accused, was cleaning a room inside the facility, when he threw a mop at an ADC officer, striking the officer. The ADC officer reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified James Jefferson MARSHALL, was charged and remained incarcerated at the ADC.
