PWC Police Department Crime Report for Friday, Feb. 4, 2022

Incidents
Commercial Burglary –
On February 3 at 10:27PM, officers responded to Joe’s Pizza and Subs located at 14085 Daves Store Ln. in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary. Surveillance footage revealed that at approximately 7:50AM, an unknown individual forcibly entered the business through the front door. While inside the business, the suspect removed the cash registers before fleeing in a red Nissan SUV with Virginia license plates: UZV-8624. Cash registers and an undisclosed amount of money were reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On February 3 at 4:38PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 2800 block of Chablis Cl. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed that entry was attempted into the home through the front door sometime between 7:20AM and 3:00PM. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing.

Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – OnThursday, Feb. 3, 2022 February 3 at 2:55AM, officers responded to the Orchard Mills Apartments located in the 3300 block of Bronson Ct. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an occupant of an apartment who was destroying property. Upon arriving at the apartment, officers observed the occupant, later identified as the accused, and attempted to detain her. During the encounter, the accused actively resisted and kicked an officer before being taken into custody. No injuries were reported by the officer and minor injuries were reported by the accused. The accused was transported to an area hospital for treatment and further evaluation before being released to police custody. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Samantha OCHOA, was arrested.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On February 4 at 12:50AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4200 block of Granby Rd. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. Upon arriving in the area, officers detained two men outside of the home who matched the description provided to police. The investigation revealed that two men, who were known to one another, were involved in a verbal altercation. As the two parties separated, the accused retrieved a firearm and fired a round into the air. No injuries or property damage were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Demian Marcel PETERS, was arrested. The other man involved in the incident was also taken into custody for public intoxication.
