PWC police close three cases with arrests

Updates on pending cases released by Prince William County Police Department on Monday, March 9, 2015

Armed Robbery *ARREST – On March 8th, the suspect involved in the robbery which was reported to have occurred in the 8000 block of Community Dr in Manassas on February 1st turned himself into police without incident. A 14 year old juvenile female acquaintance was previously arrested in connection to the same incident on March 3rd.
Arrested on March 8th:
Deonta Lamont GRAY, 22, of 8663 Devonshire Ct, apt. #204, in Manassas City
Charged with robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, conspiracy to commit a felony and contributing to the delinquency of a minor

Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On February 1st at 2:29PM, officers responded to the 8000 block of Community Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 13 year old male juvenile of Manassas, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when he was approached by two unknown men. During the encounter, the men assaulted the victim and, at one point, knocked him to the ground. Once on the ground, the men continued to assault the victim before demanding his property. One of the men threatened the victim by implying he had a weapon. The suspects took the victim’s cell phone, ring and backpack before fleeing on foot. Minor injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects. On March 2nd, detectives from the Robbery Unit identified the suspect. The investigation revealed that this suspect, identified as Deonta GRAY, conspired with a 14 year old female juvenile acquaintance to rob the victim in the above area. Following the investigation, detectives obtained charges on both suspects. The juvenile suspect was located and arrested on March 3rd without incident. Warrants remain on file for the arrest of GRAY.

Attempted Armed Robbery *ARREST – On March 8th, members of the U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force, with the assistance of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, arrested the suspect involved in the robbery which was reported to have occurred in the 10300 block of Launch Cir in Manassas on January 16th. The suspect was located at a residence located in the 400 block of Tolbelt Ct in Stafford. A female accomplice was previously arrested in connection to the same incident on January 17th.

Jake Thomas LOVE, 21, of the 7500 block of Pine St in Manassas
Described as a white male, 5’9”, 160lbs with brown hair and blue eyes
Wanted for attempted malicious wounding, attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony

Attempted Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On January 16th at 8:52PM, officers responded to the 10300 block of Launch Cir in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted robbery. The victim, an 18 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he had made arrangements to meet with a female acquaintance in the above area. Once there, the victim encountered an unknown man who displayed a knife and demanded money. The victim refused and pulled out his own knife which caused the suspect to flee. No property or money was taken. Detectives from the Robbery Unit were able to identify the initial female acquaintance and determined that she arranged for the unknown suspect to rob the victim. The male suspect has not been identified. Following the investigation, the female acquaintance, identified as the accused, was arrested on January 17th. The male suspect involved in the attempted robbery incident which was reported to have occurred in the 10300 block of Launch Cir in Manassas on January 16th has been identified as Jake LOVE. Detectives from the Robbery Unit have since obtained warrants for the arrest of this individual. The female suspect, identified as Kendal STANLEY, was previously arrested on January 17th.

Strangulation *ARREST – On March 4th, the suspect involved in the assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 16300 block of Taconic Cir in Dumfries on March 1st was arrested without incident.

Jonathan Thomas LEER, 43, of the16300 block of Taconic Cir in Dumfries
Charged with strangulation

Strangulation [Previously Released] – On March 1st at 8:24PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 16300 block of Taconic Cir in Dumfries (22025) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 47 year old woman of Dumfries, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused strangled the victim to point that she almost lost consciousness. The victim was able to free herself from the accused and contact police. The accused fled the home prior to police arriving in the area. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained a warrant for the arrest of the accused.
