PWC Police Beat for 10/10/12

INCIDENTS

Malicious Wounding | Attempted Strong Robbery – On October 4th at 11:57PM, police responded to the 7800 block of Apache Ridge Ct in Manassas (20109) for an assault. The victim, a 52 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he had just parked his vehicle in the area above and was walking to his residence when he was approached by 3 unknown men. The men asked the victim for money then assault him. The men fled the area after the assault. No property was taken from the victim. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his face. A police K-9 was utilized in the search for the assailants. No suspects were located.

3 black males, all reported to be between 20 & 30 years of age

2nd male was 6’0” / 180lbs, medium build with short black hair

Armed Robbery – On October 9th at 8:51PM, police responded to the Holiday Inn Express located at 14030 Telegraph Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for a robbery. Employees reported to police that an unknown man entered the hotel and approached the counter. Once there, the man displayed a handgun and demanded money. The man took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing, possibly in a black sedan. No injuries were reported. Surveillance photos will be released when available.

Armed Robbery – On October 9th at 8:48PM, police responded to the Citgo Convenience Store located at 14101 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) for a robbery. Employees reported to police that 3 unknown men entered the store, 1 of the men displayed a handgun and demanded money. The men took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing on foot. A police K-9 was utilized in the search for the men. No suspects were located. No injuries were reported. Surveillance photos will be released when available.

Residential Burglary – On October 9th at 10:00PM, police responded to the 12500 block of Oakwood Dr in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:00PM and 9:00PM. Entry appeared to have been made through a bedroom window which had been broken out. Two cell phones, valued around $700, were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On October 9th at 4:55PM, police responded to the 15900 block of Uppsala Ct in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:30AM and 2:30PM. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. A video game and tools, valued around $260 were reported missing. The owner also believed the residence was burglarized on October 4th during the same time frame. There were no signs of forced entry. An iPad and jewelry, valued around $450, were reported missing. It is currently unknown if these incidents are related. Entry into the residence during both burglaries is also unknown.

ARRESTS

Reckless Handling of a Firearm | Discharging a Firearm in a Public Place – On October 6th at 10:10PM, police responded to the area of Koman Cir and Jepson Dr in Manassas (20109) for a shots fired call. Several witnesses reported to police that an unknown man, later identified as the accused, was in the parking lot near the above location arguing with an unknown woman. During the encounter, the accused fired a handgun into the air before going into a residence in the 11000 block of Koman Cir. As officers approached the residence, the accused exited and was detained. A woman and a 2 year old girl were also in the residence, both unharmed. A loaded handgun was found in plain view inside the residence where the child could access it. A search warrant was obtained for the residence and executed. During the search, multiple firearms and prescription medications were located. Following the investigation, the accused was subsequently arrested.

Damitri Deron BURKS, 25, of the 11000 block of Koman Cir in Manassas
Charged with discharging a firearm in a public place, reckless handling of a firearm, endangering a child with an unsecured loaded firearm, possession of a firearm with drugs and 3 counts of possession of a schedule I or II narcotic
Court date set for November 7, 2012, held on a $10,000 secured bond

Reckless Handling of a Firearm | Shooting within an Occupied Dwelling – On October 4th at 10:00PM, police responded to the 10200 block of Oxfordshire Dr in Nokesville (20181) for a shots fired call. The investigation revealed that the accused had fired several rounds within the residence before leaving in a vehicle. No one else was home at the time of the shooting. The accused apparently was involved in a verbal altercation with another occupant of the residence which led to the shooting.  As officers were responding to the residence, the accused was located on Oxford St in her vehicle. The accused was also found to have been operating her vehicle while intoxicated. No injuries or property damage were reported.

Jocelyn Beth FELLBAUM, 40, of the 10200 block of Oxfordshire Dr in Nokesville
Charged with shooting within an occupied residence, reckless handling of a firearm and driving while intoxicated
Court date and bond information unavailable.

Narcotics Investigation – On October 9th, detectives from the Street Crimes Unit concluded an investigation into the selling of marijuana with the execution of a search warrant at 2606 Kilgore St in Haymarket (20169). During the search, marijuana, evidence of distribution and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were recovered. The following arrests were also made during the investigation.

Charged with 2 counts of possession with intent to distribute marijuana

Antwain Jermaine THOMAS, 32, of 2606 Kilgore St in Haymarket
Charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana

Alexis Bernard CREASY, 37, of 2606 Kilgore St in Haymarket
Charged with possession of a schedule I or II narcotics [cocaine] and possession of marijuana
