PWC Police Beat 8/5/11

Armed Robbery
On Aug. 3 at 11:31 p.m., police responded to the 2900 block of Wetherburn Ct. in Dumfries for a robbery. The female victim, 20 of Triangle, reported to police she was in the above area visiting a friend when she experienced car trouble. The victim parked her vehicle and attempted to fix the issue. At this point, she was approached by an unknown man who struck her multiple times before displaying a handgun. The man took an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency before fleeing on foot. Minor injuries were reported. Lookout:  Black male, unknown age, 5’07” 150 lbs., medium build, brown eyes. Last seen wearing a black bandana over his head, gray long sleeved shirt, black pants and black shoes.

Prowler
On Aug. 5 at 12:33 a.m., police responded to the 1200 block of East Longview Dr. in Woodbridge for a suspicious person. Homeowner reported to police she and her daughter, both in separate parts of the residence, heard knocking coming from a bedroom window then on rear door. Homeowner reported a motion sensor had been activated in the back yard as well. As the homeowner went to investigate the knocking, she observed a man looking into her laundry room window. The man, once discovered, fled the area. No entry was attempted into the residence. Police checked the surrounding neighborhoods and were unable to locate anyone suspicious. The homeowner was unable to provide police with a description of the man.

ARRESTS
Possession of Burglarious Tools

On Aug. 4 at 3:11 p.m., police were patrolling the commuter lot at the Prince William Parkway and the I-95 interchange in Woodbridge when they observed the accused looking into vehicles. As police approached, the accused was about to enter a vehicle parked in the lot. A search revealed the accused was in possession of tools that could be used to break into vehicles. The accused was also driving a family member’s vehicle for which permission was not given. No entry was gained into the vehicle and no items were reported missing. Arrested: Pedro Antonio Aguilar-Retana, 30, of 14801 Alabama Ave. in Woodbridge. Charged with unauthorized use, possession of burglarious tools, and driving without an operator’s license. Court date unavailable, held without bond.
