ARRESTS

Aggravated Sexual Battery – On Feb. 13, 2012, detectives began an investigation into a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred in the 3000 block of Pony Ridge Tn in Dumfries (22026). The investigation revealed that the victim, a 6-year-old boy of Dumfries, was sexually assaulted by the accused, a known acquaintance, on April 13, 2010. Following an investigation, the accused was arrested and charged. Arrested: Thanh Van LE, 38, of the 3000 block of Pony Ridge Tn in Dumfries, charged with aggravated sexual battery. Court date unavailable, held WITHOUT bond

Filing a False Police Report – On Feb. 12, 2012, police arrested the victim, now the accused after an investigation revealed that she lied to police and detectives about a reported attempted robbery on Jan. 22, 2012 in the parking lot of the Sunoco located at 3220 Old Bridge Rd in Woodbridge. Arrested: Tonni Lee CRAFT, 39, of 12241 Thyme Ln in Woodbridge, charged with filing a false police report. Court date set for April 05, 2012, released on a summons.

Attempted Strong Armed Robbery (Previously Released) – On Jan. 22, 2012 at 10:49 p.m., police responded to the Sunoco located at 3220 Old Bridge Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for an attempted robbery. The victim, a 39-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was loading items into her vehicle in the above parking lot when she was approached by an unknown man who attempted to take those items. The victim was able to keep hold of the items and the man fled on foot. No injuries were reported and no items were taken.

INCIDENTS

Burglary to a Business – On Feb. 12, 2012 at 11:03 a.m. police responded to the Arban & Carosi Company located at 13800 Dawson Beach Rd in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. Employees reported to police that the incident occurred between noon on Feb. 11, 2012 and 10:45 a.m. on Feb. 12, 2012. There were no signs of forced entry into the business. Tools and other equipment, valued around $8,800, were reported missing.

Attempted Burglary to a Business – On Feb. 9, 2012 at 3:30 p.m., police responded to the 8800 block of Song Sparrow Dr in Gainesville (20155) for an attempted burglary. Homeowner reported to police that between 7:30 a.m. and 3:20 p.m., an unknown person(s) attempted to enter the residence by prying open a rear door. No entry was gained and no items were reported missing.
