PW Fire & Rescue charges man with setting fire to woods and deliberate or negligent burning
Brush Fire – On March 12, 2024, at 7:34PM, Fire and Rescue Prince William County crews responded to the 13300 block of Minnieville Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for a reported brush fire. Crews extinguished the fire and requested a Fire Marshal to the scene.
No structures were damaged, and the cause was initially unknown. However, there was a person of interest that developed regarding the incident. On March 21, 2024, officers responded to the 2800 block of Dale Blvd in Woodbridge to view video footage of the brush fire from the day before.
Assistant Fie Chief Matt Smolsky said the investigation revealed a person of interest from previous outside fires. While canvassing the area, the person of interest was located, detained and arrested by the Fire Marshal’s Office.

Marvin Ismael ESCOBAR-MEDRANO, 34, of no specific address
Charged with Setting Fire to Woods and Deliberate or negligent burning.
