Prince William Police investigate malicious wounding by mob

**ARRESTS**

Malicious Wounding by Mob – On August 17 at 12:27AM, Prince William County Police Department officers responded to investigate an assault which was reported to have occurred inside an apartment located in the 1900 block of Briar Rose Ln in Woodbridge (22192).

The investigation revealed the victim, a 30-year-old man, went to the above apartment to speak to the female accused, an acquaintance, about retrieving belongings from the residence.

When he arrived, he encountered multiple male individuals inside the apartment. The victim was struck by one of the men. At that point, the victim pulled out a handgun. A struggle ensued and the firearm discharged.

The suspects eventually left the home. The victim also left the home where he encountered an officer nearby. The victim notified the officer of the incident prompting the investigation.

Officers checked the apartment and located the bullet hole which entered an adjacent residence. No injuries were reported. The firearm was located in the parking lot area and recovered. All involved suspects were located and, following the investigation, were arrested.
