Prince William County Police News Summary for Tuesday, July 18, 2021- Unlawful filming at store

INCIDENTS
• Shooting Investigation –
On Monday, July 18, 2022 at 9:11PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Elevations One Apartments located in the 14300 block of Jeffries Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shooting with injuries. Upon arriving in the area, officers located a 38-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers provided immediate first aid to the man until rescue personnel arrived and transported him to an area hospital where his injuries were determined to be life-threatening.
The investigation revealed two groups of individuals were in the above area when a verbal altercation escalated physically. At one point during the altercation, a member of one of the groups brandished a firearm before firing a round, striking the man located by police. Shortly after the shooting, another member of the same group also brandished a gun towards the other group. Several individuals dispersed as police were contacted.
While investigating the incident, officers were informed that members of the group who brandished the firearm fled in a vehicle. Officers located the unoccupied suspect vehicle a short distance away from the above location. A police K-9 and helicopter assistance from Fairfax County police searched the area for the suspects who were not located. No additional injuries or property damage were reported. Multiple individuals were on scene and were not cooperative with police. At this time, the incident does not appear to be random.

• Armed Robbery – On Monday, July 18, 2022 at 5:24PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Summertree Condominiums located in the 11000 block of Camfield Ct. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victims, a 17-year-old male juvenile and a 24-year-old man, were in the above area when they were approached by three unknown black men. During the encounter, the suspects brandished a firearm and a knife before demanding property from the victims. The suspects fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and a key. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspects who were not located.
Suspects’ Description:
Three black males, all between 18-25 years old, two were approximately 6’0”
One of the men was last seen wearing a white shirt, grey shorts, and white sneakers while another was last seen wearing a purple shirt
No clothing description was provided for the third man

• Brandishing of a Firearm – On Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 4:50PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 8500 block of Charnwood Ct. in Manassas (20111) to investigate a brandishing. The investigation revealed the victim, a 46-year-old man, approached two unknown men about moving a vehicle which was blocking his vehicle. During the encounter, a verbal altercation escalated when one of the men brandished a firearm towards the victim. Both men then left the area in the vehicle, described as a black 4-door sedan. At no time were shots fired during the incident.
Suspect Description:
A Hispanic male, approximately 40 years old, with a heavy build, and short black hair
Last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and carrying a firearm

• Unlawful Filming – On Friday, July 15, 2022 at 6:41PM,  Prince William County Police officers responded to investigate a suspicious incident that was reported to have occurred at the Kohl’s department store located at 13725 Foulger Sq. in Woodbridge (22192) earlier that day.
The investigation revealed the victims, a 20-year-old woman and a 23-year-old woman, were inside a dressing room when they observed a phone being held under the door. The individual holding the phone was not observed by the women.
On July 17, officers responded to the same business for an additional unlawful filming incident. The second investigation revealed a 15-year-old female juvenile observed a phone under the door to her dressing room. The victim yelled and the individual holding the phone left. The juvenile victim reported the incident to a family member who contacted the police. Video surveillance revealed the same man was involved in both incidents. At no time was there any physical contact between the victims and the suspect.
Suspect Description:
A Hispanic male, between 35-45 years of age, with a medium build, black hair, black eyes, a scar on his right cheek, and a mustache

• Attempted Residential Burglary – On Monday, July 18, 2022 at 2:34AM,  Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 1800 block of Cedar Cove Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed two unknown individuals were observed attempting to climb onto the balcony of the residence. The homeowner confronted the individuals who quickly fled the area on foot.
While checking the home, officers located damage to the garage door. No entry was made into the home and no additional property damage was reported. While investigating the incident, officers were informed two unknown individuals matching the description provided to police were seen in the area earlier that evening and were confronted by residents before fleeing on foot.

ARRESTS
• Felony Child Neglect | DUI –
On Sunday, July 17, 2022 at 12:42AM,  Prince William County Police officers responded to the intersection of Balls Ford Rd. and Sudley Rd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a two-vehicle crash.
Upon arriving at the intersection, officers observed an unoccupied 2013 Infiniti JX35 with significant damage. The driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash, a 2018 Mercedes GLA250, was present at the scene. Officers quickly located the driver of the Infiniti, later identified as the accused, and another occupant of the vehicle, a 2-year-old girl, at a business nearby. The investigation revealed the accused was driving north on Sudley Rd., approaching Balls Ford Rd., when he disregarded the red traffic signal and continued into the intersection where he struck the Mercedes. The accused then took the child out of the vehicle and fled to the business where they were later located by police.
Officers determined the accused was intoxicated and took him into custody without incident. Rescue personnel responded and determined the child was unharmed. The child was turned over to a family member. No additional injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Ricardo AYALA CRESPIN, was arrested. While being processed at the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center, the accused was found in possession of suspected illegal narcotics.

Charged with felony child neglect, hit & run, possession of a controlled substance, DUI, and unreasonable refusal
