**UPDATES**

Assault & Battery on a Fire Marshal *ARREST – On September 11th, members of the U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force and the 6th District Warrant Squad of the Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department located and arrested the suspect involved in the reckless driving complaint which resulted in the assault of a Fire Marshal that occurred in the 10400 block of Bristow Center Dr in Bristow (20136) on September 2nd. The suspect was located at a residence in the 300 block of Division Ave NE in Washington DC where he was arrested without incident. The suspect remains in custody in Washington DC awaiting extradition back to Virginia.

Devaughn Jemar BROWN-GRAY, 28, of the 1500 block of 16th St SE in Washington, D.C.
Charged with assault & battery on a LEO, eluding police, reckless driving, and a parking violation

Assault & Battery on a Fire Marshal [Previously Released] – On September 2nd at 3:15PM, officers responded to the 10400 block of Bristow Center Dr in Bristow (20136) to investigate a reckless driver. The investigation revealed that a Prince William County Fire Marshal was in the above area when he observed an unoccupied vehicle parked in the fire lane obstructing a fire department water connection. As the Fire Marshal was writing a parking citation, the vehicle owner returned and attempted to leave.  The driver was told to exit the vehicle at which point he placed the vehicle in drive and began moving toward the Fire Marshal.  As the Fire Marshal attempted to move out of the path of the vehicle, the driver stopped then placed the vehicle in reverse. The vehicle then proceeded in reverse into oncoming traffic before eventually driving onto an adjacent sidewalk and stopping. At that point, the driver then attempted flee the area.  When the Fire Marshal attempted to stop the vehicle, the accused continue to flee before driving out of sight. Following the investigation, the driver was identified as the accused and warrants were obtained for his arrest. Attempts to locate the suspect have been unsuccessful.

*ARRESTS**

Malicious Wounding – On September 10th at 4:30AM, officers responded to the Adult Detention Center located at 9320 Lee Ave in Manassas (20110) to investigate an assault between two inmates. The victim, a 55 year old man, reported to police that he was asleep inside his cell when he was approached by the accused. The accused began to argue with the victim before striking him numerous times in the face and head area. An Adult Detention Officer heard the altercation and was able to intervene to separate the two men. The victim sustained a laceration to his face and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Following the investigation the accused was charged.

Charged with malicious wounding

Unlawful Wounding – On September 11th at 1:19AM, officers responded to the Marriot Hotel located at 10701 Battleview Pkwy in Manassas (20109) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 25 year old man of Brooklyn NY, reported to police that he was sleeping in one of the rooms of the hotel when the accused, a known acquaintance, entered and the two began to argue. During the encounter, the accused bit the victim just above his right eye. A second occupant of the room was also assaulted by the accused. The parties eventually separated and police were contacted. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Chalet Antoinette JEAN-BAPTISTE, 35, of 8807 Flat Bush Ct in Manassas
Charged with unlawful wounding
Court date: pending | Bond: held WITHOUT bond

Commercial Burglary – On September 10th at 1:07AM, officers responded to the Tienda Y Joyeria located at 14442 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The business owner reported to police that he was contacted by the alarm company regarding an activation at the store. Once at the location, the front door was found damaged. Upon reviewing the surveillance footage, two male suspects were seen breaking into the business and stealing multiple watches from a display case. The suspects fled prior to the business owner arriving at the location. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects. During the search, two male juveniles were located nearby on Piccolo Ln. Following the investigation, officers were able to link the juveniles to the burglary and both were subsequently arrested. A second burglary to the American Grocery located at 14428 Jefferson Davis Hwy was also reported around the same time. Additional charges in that case are pending.

Both were charged with burglary, grand larceny and destruction of property
