Prince William County Police Beat - Jan. 25, 2017

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery – On January 24 at 11:00PM, officers responded to the area of Cove Landing Dr and Fisher Ave in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 59-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was driving in the above area when she stopped to feed some stray cats on Cove Landing Dr. A short time later, an unknown man exited an older, light colored vehicle which was parked nearby then brandished a handgun and demanded money from the victim. When the victim stated she did not have any, the suspect reached inside of the victim’s vehicle and took her cell phone. The suspect then got back into his vehicle and drove away. No injuries were reported. Officers checked the area for the suspect vehicle which was not located.
Suspect Description:
Black male, approximately 25 years of age, 5’09”, with a medium build and short hair
No clothing description was provided

Attempted Residential Burglary – On January 23 at 4:21PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 9900 block of Par Dr in Nokesville (20181) to investigate an alarm activation. When a deputy with the Prince William Sheriff’s Department arrived, she observed that the garage door was damaged and open.  Further investigation revealed that no entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing. The investigation continues.

**ARRESTS**

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On January 24 at 11:46AM, officers responded the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) for a subject with a gun. When an officer arrived, he made contact with a man matching the description provided by the caller. When the officer challenged the suspect, he removed what appeared to be a handgun from his pocket and dropped it on the ground. As the officer attempted to detain the suspect, he pushed the officer and attempted to run away. After a brief foot pursuit, the accused was taken into custody without further incident. Further investigation later determined that the weapon was a BB gun. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Charged with assault & battery on a LEO, resisting arrest, and carrying a concealed weapon
