**INCIDENTS**

Felony Hit and Run Investigation – On January 11 at 1:15AM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Dale Blvd and Ashdale Ave in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian. The victim, identified as a 37 year old man of Woodbridge, was located lying on the shoulder of the roadway suffering from serious, non-life threatening and was flown to a local hospital. The initial investigation revealed that the victim, who was not in a crosswalk, was attempting to cross the eastbound lanes of Dale Blvd from the center median when he was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Dale Blvd. The striking vehicle did not remain at the scene.  Alcohol use by the victim was a factor. The investigation continues.
Suspect Vehicle Description:
Possibly a 2002 to 2006 Ford Taurus or Mercury Sable of unknown color with damage to the passenger side headlight

Strong Armed Robbery – On January 10 at 10:20PM, officers responded to the area of Opitz Blvd and Malloy Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 25 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was walking in the above area when he was approached by two unknown men.  During the encounter, the suspects struck the victim in the face and pushed him to the ground before taking his property. The victim got off the ground and was able to retrieve his property from one of the suspects before the men fled the area. Minor injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects who were not located. The investigation continues.

1st suspect was last seen wearing a white hoodie with grey sweat pants
2nd suspect was last seen wearing a grey hoodie with black sweat pants

Attempted Residential Burglary – On January 9 at 1:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 17900 Swans Creek Ln in Dumfries (22026) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that sometime between 4:30AM on December 31 and 2:00PM on January 8, entry was attempted into the home through the garage door which was found damaged. No entry was made and no property was reported missing. 

Attempted Residential Burglary – On January 9 at 11:31AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 16600 block of Harwood Oaks Ct in Dumfries (22026) to investigate an attempted burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that sometime between 12:00AM and 9:30AM, entry was attempted into the apartment through a window which was found damaged. No entry was made and no property was reported missing.
 
**ARRESTS**

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On January 11 at 7:21AM, officers responded to an apartment building located in the 12900 block of Sleepy Creek Way in Woodbridge (22192) for an intoxicated person. Officers arrived in the area and made contact with the accused who exhibited signs of intoxication.  During the encounter, the accused attempted to flee by jumping over a third floor railing and landing on the ground floor below. Officers were able to quickly take the accused into custody. While being placed in the backseat of a police cruiser, the accused resisted and, at one point, struck an officer in the lower body. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
