**ARRESTS**

Malicious Wounding | Strangulation – On June 18th at 7:00AM, officers responded the 12400 block of Cavalier Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a stabbing. The caller reported to police that an unknown man was running down the street suffering from an apparent stab wound. Officers responded to the area and attempted to locate the man. Eventually officers located the man, identified as Christopher LEVELLE, at a residence on Cavalier Dr. The man was suffering from a stab wound to his left shoulder. A second occupant of the home, identified as Julia ESSMAN, was also located inside the residence suffering from minor injuries to her neck. The investigation revealed that both parties were involved in a verbal altercation inside the home which escalated. During the encounter, the male suspect assaulted the female and, at one point, began to choke her. Neither individual would cooperate with police as to how the male suspect was stabbed. Both parties were known to one another and were subsequently transported to an area hospital for treatment. Following the investigation, both were charged.

Julia Marie ESSMAN, 30, of 12465 Cavalier Dr in Woodbridge
Charged with malicious wounding

Christopher Lee LEVELLE, 27, of 12465 Cavalier Dr in Woodbridge
Charged with strangulation, domestic assault & battery and providing a false identity to law enforcement

Court date: pending | Bond: both were held WITHOUT bond

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] | Attempt to Disarm a LEO – On June 19th, detectives from the Street Crimes Unit conducted a proactive check at the Inns of Virginia located at 951 Annapolis Way in Woodbridge (22191). During the check, a police K-9 alerted detectives to a room within the hotel. Detectives detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from that room and made contact with the occupant who was later identified as the accused. During the encounter, detectives attempted to arrest the accused, at which point, she actively resisted, leading to a struggle. At one point, the accused grabbed one of the detective’s firearms. Four of the detectives were assaulted before the accused was finally taken into custody. After being transported to the Garfield Police Station for processing, the accused spat at another officer. No injuries were reported.

**INCIDENTS**

Indecent Exposure – On June 18th at 10:37AM, officers responded to the area of Urbanna Rd near Community Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate an indecent exposure. The victim, a 29 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she was walking across a pedestrian bridge which connects the neighborhoods on the above streets when she observed an unknown man. As the victim walked by the man, he turned and exposed himself towards her. No physical contact was made and the man never approached the victim. Police were contacted and conducted a search of the area. The man was not located.
Suspect Description:
Black male, between 18 & 28 years of age, 6’0”, 190lbs with a medium build, dark complexion and black hair
Last seen wearing a dark colored ball cap, white t-shirt, light colored shorts and a red sweatshirt wrapped around his waist

Residential Burglary – On June 18th at 12:05PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14200 block of Mount Pleasant Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 10:30AM on June 17th and 11:30AM on June 18th. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured rear sliding glass door. Jewelry, a camera and other property were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On June 18th at 9:18AM, officers responded to investigate a burglary which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 7400 block of Pinehurst Ln in Manassas (20109) around 8:30AM. The caller reported to police that two men were seen breaking into a neighbor’s residence in the above area. One of the men forced entry into the home by kicking in a side door. The second suspect appeared to act as a lookout during the incident. Officers arrived at the home and conducted an interior search of the residence and surrounding neighborhood. Multiple firearms were reported missing. The men were described as white males in the 50’s. The investigation continues.
