Prince William County Police Beat 5/1/13

**ARRESTS**

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On April 30th at 10:01PM, police responded to the 12400 block of Dillingham Sq in Woodbridge (22192) for domestic dispute. Caller reported to police that a male and female were in the parking lot arguing. Officers arrived on scene and identified both parties who were both determined to be intoxicated. Officers attempted to arrest both parties, during which, EDSALL, actively resisted. A struggle ensued, at which point, CALKINS, attempted to pull one of the officers away from EDSALL. CALKINS then resisted as well when being placed into custody. Both suspects were eventually detained without further incident. No injuries were reported.

Shannon Ariel CALKINS, 26, of 2931 Seminole Rd in Woodbridge
Charged with assault & battery on LEO, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, and intoxication in public
Court date set for June 11, 2013, held WITHOUT bond

Daniel Ryan EDSALL, 25, of 2931 Seminole Rd in Woodbridge
Charged with resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, and intoxication in public
Court date set for June 11, 2013, held on a $5,000 secured bond

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On April 30th at 8:52AM, police responded to the 1800 block of Clarinet Ct in Woodbridge (22191) for a 9-1-1 call. Officers arrived and spoke to the caller, later identified as the accused. The accused called 9-1-1 after getting into a disagreement with a family member. During the course of the investigation, the accused became agitated an assaulted one of the officers. A struggle ensued and, at one point, the accused bit another officer to his hand. Minor injuries were reported. The accused was eventually detained without further incident.

Dina Elizabeth GUARDADO, 26, of 1805 Clarinet Ct #102 in Woodbridge
Charged with 2 counts of assault & battery on LEO and resisting arrest
Court date set for June 3, 2013, held WITHOUT bond

Falsely Summoning the Police – On April 30th at 10:44PM, police responded to 3600 block of Wharf Ln in Triangle (22172) for an armed robbery. An employee at Connie’s Food Market called police after an unknown man entered the store and told them there was a robbery at the above address and to call police. Officers made contact at the address and determined that there was no disturbance at the residence. Officers then located the man, later identified as the accused, at a nearby location. The accused was determined to be intoxicated and, upon further investigation, officers learned that no robbery had taken place, but rather the accused was involved in a verbal argument with a known acquaintance at the above address. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Berton Lee GARTRELL, 36, of the 3600 block of Wharf Ln in Triangle
Charged with falsely summoning the police and intoxication in public
Court date and bond information unavailable

Narcotics Investigation – On March 5th, detectives from the Prince William-Manassas-Manassas Park Narcotics Task Force concluded a narcotics investigation into the selling of prescription medications with the execution of a search warrant at 205 Manassas Dr in Manassas Park (20111). A result of the investigation, evidence supporting distribution, prescription medications, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were seized. The following arrest was also made without incident. This arrest was previously held for investigative purposes.
Arrested on March 5th:
Desiree LEWIS, 56, of 205 Manassas Dr in Manassas
Charged with distribution of a schedule I or II narcotic
Court date set for May 23, 2013, held WITHOUT bond [at the time of arrest]
