Precautionary evacuation at Marshall Elementary School

Prince William County school officials announced a “precautionary evacuation” at Marshall Elementary School, 12505 Kahns Road, Manassas, due to the fire alarm signal, at about 11:45 a.m. on WEdnesday, Dec. 12.

According to Irene Cromer, supervisor of community relations for the school division, emergency crews were responding, and all at the school were safe.

At about 12:15 p.m., Cromer said officials determined that the Marshall fire alarm sounded because an air conditioning fan motor burned up. “The building is safe at this time. Students should be returning to the building shortly,” Cromer said.
