Postal carrier shot in Woodbridge while delivering mail; unknown masked suspect wore no shoes

Shooting Investigation – On September 14 at 4:49PM, officers responded to the 3500 block of Buffalo Ct. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting. The initial investigation revealed that the victim, a 28-year-old man, was delivering mail for the United States Postal Service.

While in the area, an unknown male approached the victim and shot him in the lower body. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. Officers rendered aid to the victim before he was flown to an area hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

A police K-9 and helicopter with Fairfax County Police responded to search the for the suspect who was not located. Inspectors from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service also responded to the scene. The investigation continues.

Suspect Descriptions: A black male, approximately 20-30 years old, about 6’0” with a medium build. Last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black pants, no shoes, and a blue surgical mask
