Police investigate domestic altercation

Strangulation | Domestic Related – On Feb. 16 at 3:21AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 2300 block of Kingsbury Ln. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic.

The victim, a 26-year-old woman, reported to police that she and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim by the throat and then threw her against the bedframe. The parties eventually separated, and the police were contacted. The victim reported minor injuries.

Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Colin Harris MALAGUERRA, was arrested.

Charged with strangulation and domestic assault
Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond

Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling – On Feb. 15 at 10:34AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 13000 block of Invergordon St. in Bristow (20136) to investigate a destruction of property.

Residents reported to police that gunshots were heard in the above area. The homeowner reported to police that around 12:00AM on February 14, two gunshots were heard nearby. Later the next day, the homeowner discovered two interior walls were damaged after being struck by projectiles. No injuries were reported.

Officers were able to locate and collect bullet fragments from within the home. No injuries or additional property damage were reported.

Residential Burglary – On Feb. 16 at 3:50PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5500 block of Spangler Ln. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an alarm activation.
The investigation revealed that entry was made into the home through the rear basement window that was found damaged. The home appeared rummaged through however, at this time there were no items reported missing. Additional property damage was reported.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On Feb. 13 at 9:12PM, officers responded to Shorehaven Apartments located in the 2900 block of Shorehaven Way in Dumfries (22026) to investigate an attempted burglary.

A resident of one of the apartments reported to police that sometime between 5:00PM and 8:50PM, entry was attempted into the residence through a bedroom window that was found damaged. No entry appears to have been made into the apartment and no property was reported missing.
