Police identify red Lexus as suspect vehicle in connection with pedestrian fatality

Fatal Hit & Run Investigation *SUSPECT VEHICLE –
Based on evidence recovered from the scene of a fatal hit & run pedestrian-involved crash that occurred in the 4300 block of Inn St. in Triangle (22172) on Sept. 30, 2021, investigators with the Prince William County Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit have determined the suspect vehicle is a Lexus of various models between 2006-2020.

According to First Sgt. Jonathan Perok, public information officer, the suspect vehicle is red in color and would have notable damage to the front end of the vehicle and possibly a broken windshield. Perok said the front bumper, fender area, and/or the undercarriage of the vehicle may also be damaged due to missing parts found at the scene. The collision killed a 60-year-old Dumfries man who was walking in the area. Crash investigators are requesting to speak to anyone who may have information about the suspect vehicle sought in connection to this collision. The investigation continues.

The suspect vehicle is believed to one of the following models: 2006-2015 Lexus IS, 2008-2013 Lexus IS-F, 2006-2012 or 2017-2020 Lexus GS, or a 2010-2020 Lexus LS

Identified:
The victim was identified as William Francis FISHER, 60, of Dumfries

Fatal Hit & Run Investigation *UPDATE [Previously Released] – On Oct. 14, 2021 investigators with the Prince William County Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit were notified of the death of the pedestrian involved in the hit & run crash that occurred in the 4300 block of Inn St. in Triangle (22172) on Sept. 30, 2021. An autopsy conducted on Oct. 15 confirmed that the injuries sustained by the pedestrian were from being struck by a vehicle, police said. The only description of the suspect vehicle is a red or maroon colored vehicle with front end damage. The investigation continues.

Felony Hit and Run [Previously Released] – On Sept. 30, 2021 at 12:17AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 4300 block of Inn St. in Triangle (22172) to investigate an unconscious man in the roadway. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 60-year-old man, was walking in a dimly lit area of the roadway, when he was struck by a maroon-colored vehicle. The victim came to rest in the eastbound lane of travel where he was located by another motorist who contacted the police. The striking vehicle did not stop at the scene and continued driving. The victim was flown to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. No further information on the driver or striking vehicle is available at this time. The investigation continues.
