Police determine possible Oct. 28 abduction at Woodbridge Walmart was a prank

UPDATE #2 Possible Abduction – On November 2, Prince William County police were able to identify the alleged victim involved in the possible abduction at the Wal-Mart on Worth Ave in Woodbridge which occurred on October 28.

The victim was positively identified as an 18-year-old man of Woodbridge. Investigators have since determined the alleged abduction was a prank after confirming the details with the alleged victim. The parties involved appeared to have filmed the incident to later post on YouTube.

After police determined that no criminal activity occurred, no charges will be placed in the incident, according to Sgt. Jonathan Perok, police department spokesman.

UPDATE #1 Possible Abduction – Upon reviewing additional surveillance cameras at the Wal-Mart, footage shows that the individuals involved in the incident, to include the alleged victim, appear to reenter the store approximately 5 minutes after the alleged initial encounter. The victim does not appear to be in distress or make any attempt to get away from the other individuals. All parties eventually exit the store after an estimated 40 minutes. Detectives are seeking additional information from the public to help identify the parties involved so police can make contact with the individuals to confirm the nature of the incident and to also check on the welfare of the alleged victim.
