Occoquan resident to launch novel set in this historic town on April 3

Occoquan Mayor Earnie Porta reports that on Wednesday, April 3, at 7:30 p.m., the Occoquan Town Hall will be the site of the Occoquan launch of town resident Henry G. Brinton’s novel, “City of Peace.”

Brinton is an author and Presbyterian pastor who Porta said has written on religion and culture for The New York Times, The Washington Post, and USA Today.

Set in modern-day Occoquan, his novel follows the path of pastor Harley Camden, who after experiencing deep personal tragedy is assigned to a small congregation in Occoquan, where a mysterious murder leads to new challenges that will engage the reader politically and spiritually.

Porta said he has “been given the honor of introducing Mr. Brinton and after he speaks and does several readings have been asked to provide some insight into the line between fact and fiction in the book.:

The mayor says arrive early to get a seat.
