No indication of foul play in death in Woodbridge pond

Death Investigation *UPDATE – On November 17, an autopsy was conducted on the man discovered deceased in a pond near the area of Pond Way and Park Lake Rd in Woodbridge last week. Preliminarily, based on the autopsy, there were no indications of foul play. The death appears to be non-criminal in nature, according to gt. Jonathan Perok, police department spokesman.

A final determination regarding the death will be made by the Medical Examiner’s Office pending toxicology results. At this time, there is no need for public concern surrounding the death. The victim was identified as a 39-year-old man. The investigation continues.

Death Investigation [Previously Released] – On November 16 at 9:10AM, officers responded to the area of Pond Way and Park Lake Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a death. The caller reported to police that while walking in the above area, a body was discovered in the pond. The victim, identified as a male, was removed from the water and pronounced deceased. At this time, the cause of death is unknown. The investigation continues.
