Mock election at Beville Middle School on Nov. 3

Nearly 360 civics students at Beville Middle School will get a sense of our democracy when they head to “voting booths” in their Dale City area school Nov. 3.

Students will vote using paper ballots which will resemble the actual Virginia ballot.

The mock election will be held from 8:15 to 10 a.m. and from noon to 2:45 p.m.

The eighth graders are studying a unit on the Executive Branch, including the Electoral College, political parties, the role of media in elections, and citizenship in a democracy.

The League of Women Voters is helping to run the mock election, according to a news release from Prince William County Schools.
