Manassas man taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after shooting

– On Friday, Sept. 10 at 1:56PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Barrington Apartments located in the 10600 block of Blendia Ln. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shooting.

Upon arriving at the complex, officers located two men inside an apartment, one of which was suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers provided first aid to the victim, a 24-year-old man, until rescue personnel arrived and transported him to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to a report from Master Police Officer Renee Carr, public information officer.

The other man, later identified as the accused, was detained. The investigation revealed that the victim and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the altercation, the accused
retrieved a firearm and fired several rounds, striking the victim. No additional injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Brandon Tanner HAYLEY, was arrested.

Charged with aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony,
Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond
