Manassas City Police Beat 9/14/11

Larceny
Manassas City Police are investigating the theft of a laptop computer from a vehicle located in the 10000 block of Dumfries Road. The theft occurred between 3 p.m. and 4:20 p.m., on Sept. 9, 2011. The victim stated to police that the computer was sitting in the front seat, in plain view, when it was stolen. She was not sure if the vehicle was secured. The laptop computer was valued at over $600. Residents are reminded not to leave anything of value inside their vehicles and to always keep their vehicles locked.


Stabbing Arrest
On Sept. 11, 2011, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Manassas City Police Officers were called to the area of the City Tavern restaurant regarding reports of a stabbing. Upon their arrival, they stopped a vehicle that was alleged to be involved in the incident. After further investigation, police arrested Brandon Patterson, 25, of 8713 Signal Hill Road, charging him with Malicious Wounding and Public Intoxication.
Patterson is currently being held at the Prince William Adult Detention Center, with no bond. His court date was set for Nov. 22, 2011.


Burglary Arrest
Sept. 11, 2011, at approximately 11:55 p.m., Manassas City Police Officers responded to All Saints Catholic Church, located on Center Street, in regards to a burglary. Upon the officers’ arrival, they encountered a subject near the church that matched the suspect’s description. After further questioning, Robert Pena Jr., 52, of no fixed address, was placed under arrest and charged with Entering a Dwelling to Commit a Larceny, Possession of Burglarious Tools, along with two counts of Larceny of Bank Notes. He is currently being held at the Prince William Adult Detention Center, on a $20,000   bond. His court date was set for Oct. 11, 2011.


False Identification Arrest
On Sept. 10, 2011, at approximately 10:55 p.m., Manassas City Police Officers encountered a subject in the 9400 block of Main Street, where the subject identified himself as Christopher James. Further investigation revealed that James had provided officers with false information and that his real name was Andrew Ralph James, 26, of Stafford, VA.
James was currently wanted in Stafford on a Hit & Run warrant.
He was arrested and held at the Prince William Adult Detention Center on the outstanding warrant and was also cited for Providing False Information to Law Enforcement to Avoid Prosecution. His court date was set for Sept. 27, 2011.
