Burglary - Correction
On September 5, 2012, a Manassas City Police Officer responded to “Giant Foods”, located at 8819 Centreville Rd, regarding recovered property. A gym bag containing 14 purses had been left in the store.  Upon further investigation, the Officer determined that the purses had been stolen from the 8500 block of Yoder Ln.  According to the victim, the suspect, who was once a roommate of the victim, gained unauthorized entry into her home while she was away and stole the purses.

Michael Ezzo (26) of 6221 43rd Ave, Hyattsville, MD was arrested on unrelated charges in Prince William County.  A warrant for Burglary with Intent to Commit Larceny has not yet been served.

Robbery Arrest
On September 9, 2012 at approximately 1:30 p.m., Manassas City Police Officers responded to the intersection of Prince William St and Main St regarding an assault. Upon their arrival, they were told by the victim that her ex-boyfriend had assaulted her as she was seeking assistance from someone in a passing vehicle.  According to the victim, she and Artanis Carmichael of 108 Mountain Perry Dr, Stafford, had an argument the previous night at her apartment.  According to the victim, she then left the residence and Carmichael followed her down Main St near Prince William St,, continuing to threaten her.  When the victim attempted to flag down a driver passing by and enter the vehicle to seek assistance, Carmichael pulled the victim to the ground from the vehicle by her purse strap and stole her keys.

Artanis Carmichael (30) was arrested a short time later and charged with Robbery, Destruction of Property, Assault and Battery and Unlawful Entry.  He was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center with no bond.  His court date was set for November 5, 2012.

Robbery Arrest
On September 9, 2012 Manassas City Police Officers were flagged down in the 9300 block of Taney Rd for a report of a robbery. According to the victim, he was sitting on a park bench in the greens between Aspen Pl and Byrd Dr at approximately 9:30 p.m. on September 8, 2012 when three males approached him, threw him to the ground, and robbed him of his wallet.  The victim was able to identify two of the males.  The wallet, which contained cash and miscellaneous documents at the time of the robbery, was later recovered by officers at 9842 Buckner Rd.

Michael Pollard (21) of 8051 Ashland Ave and a juvenile were each charged with Robbery, Assault and Battery and Grand Larceny.  Pollard was held at the Prince William Adult Detention Center with no bond, and the juvenile was held at the Prince William Juvenile Detention Center.  Pollard’s court date was set for November 5, 2012.

PW Police report passenger dies from injuries sustained in an April 15 traffic collision

The investigation revealed the driver of a 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 Pickup truck was traveling westbound on Yates Ford Rd. approaching Evans Ford Rd. when a 1993 Buick Roadmaster traveling eastbound on Yates Ford Rd. entered the intersection in front of the truck’s path of travel. The truck and Roadmaster collided within the intersection. The driver and female passenger of the Roadmaster were transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. A Pug in the Roadmaster was declared deceased on scene.
