Robbery
A Manassas City Police Officer was conducting foot patrol on Byrd Drive and Aspen Place when he was flagged down and advised by a citizen who stated to the officer that he had been robbed at this same location on Oct. 23, 2011, between 7 and 9 p.m.
The victim told officers that he was walking home when he was stopped by two black male subjects. He said that one of the subjects punched him in the face and knocked him down to the ground while the other stole an undisclosed amount of money from his pockets.
One of the offenders was described as a heavy set black male, 5’9” tall, approximately 16-17 years old, last seen wearing a red cap, red shirt and black pants. The second offender was described as a thin black male, approximately 14 years old and olive skinned. The victim sustained minimal injuries stemming from this incident.
This is an ongoing investigation.
Assault
Manassas City Police officers are investigating an assault that occurred between 6:30 and 7 p.m. on Oct. 23, 2011, in the 8800 block of Portner Avenue.
The victim advised officers that she was standing in front of her apartment when a white male subject approached her, yelling obscenities at her. The suspect grabbed the victim by the arms and pinned her to the wall. The offender then took off running towards the area of Liberia Avenue.
The suspect was described as a white male with olive complexion, 5’5”- 5’7” tall, very thin, grey and black bushy hair and a weathered face. He was last seen wearing a green military type jacket, beige shorts and sneakers without socks. The victim sustained minimal injuries stemming from this incident.
This is an ongoing investigation.
Theft from vehicle
On Oct. 24, 2011, a resident contacted the police department and advised that sometime between 11 p.m. on Oct. 23, 2011 and 6 a.m. on Oct. 24, 2011, someone(s) entered her unlocked vehicle, which was parked in front of her residence in the 9400 block of Flowerden Lane, and stole a Garmin GPS unit and an undisclosed amount of money.
This is an ongoing investigation.
Residents are reminded not to leave anything of value inside their vehicles and to always keep their vehicles locked.
