Man dies from injuries Oct. 20 when car hits tree in Lake Ridge in medical related accident Oct. 12

**INCIDENTS**

Crash – Fatality | Medical Related – On October 12th at 9:25PM, police responded to the area of Woodfern Ct and Woodlawn Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a single vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver, and only occupant, of a 2013 Scion XB was traveling westbound on Woodfern Ct when he suffered a medical emergency causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a tree. The driver was transported to an area hospital where he died on October 20th as a result of injuries sustained during the crash. The driver was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Speed, alcohol, and drug use are not factors.

The driver of the 2013 Scion XB has been identified as James Savvas MIKEDES, 61, of Woodbridge

Attempted Residential Burglary – On October 23rd at 12:33AM, police responded to a residence located in the 2000 block of Horizon Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that she was inside her residence when she heard a noise coming from her bedroom. Upon checking the noise, the homeowner discovered an unknown man attempting to climb through her window. The homeowner immediately shut the window and the suspect fled on foot. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.
Suspect Description:
Black male, between 20 & 30 years of age with a medium complexion
Last seen wearing a black beanie, black hooded sweatshirt, and gloves

Attempted Residential Burglary – On October 22nd at 4:00PM, police responded to a residence located in the 16800 block of Reef Knot Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that at around 5:00AM he heard a noise coming from outside of the residence. Later in the day, the homeowner discovered that a rear sliding glass door to the residence was slightly open. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing.

Attempted Commercial Burglary – On October 21st at 3:34PM, police responded to Capitol Auto Body located at 8108 Centreville Rd in Manassas (20111) to investigate an attempted burglary. The business owner reported to police that between 9:00AM on October 17th and 3:30PM on October 21st, an unknown person(s) attempted entry into the business through a rear door which was found damaged. No entry was made into the business and no property was reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Rape | Strangulation | Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On October 22nd at 9:15AM, detectives from the Special Victims Bureau responded to investigate an assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence in the 5000 block of Linfield Dr in Woodbridge (22193). The investigation revealed that the victim, a 27 year old woman of Woodbridge, was visiting the accused, a known acquaintance, at his residence in the above area. Shortly before 4:00AM, the victim was outside when the accused confronted her. During the encounter, the accused demanded the victim’s wallet and took her cell phone while striking her repeatedly. The assault caused the victim to go in and out of consciousness. The accused then dragged the victim back into the residence where he continued to assault her physically and sexually. The victim eventually lost consciousness and when she awoke, the accused was asleep allowing her to leave the residence. A passerby observed the victim and called police. The victim sustained significant injuries to her face and body and was transported to an area hospital. The accused was at the residence when officers arrived. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Marcell Andre HALEY, 28, of 5001 Linfield Dr in Woodbridge
Charged with 2 counts of rape, 1 count of aggravated malicious wounding, 2 counts of strangulation, 1 count of forcible sodomy, 1 count of attempted forcible sodomy, 1 count of abduction with intent to defile, 1 count of aggravated sexual battery, and 1 count of robbery.
