Law enforcement officer injured; man charged

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On October 22 at 4:01PM, officers responded to the Walmart located at 14000 Worth Ave in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a larceny. While responding to the store, officers located an individual, later identified as the accused, at the intersection of Prince William Parkway and Smoketown Rd who matched the description of the suspect from the larceny.

During the investigation, the accused shoved the officer and fled the area on foot. The accused entered a nearby restaurant where he was detained without further incident.

The investigation revealed that the accused stole power tools from the store and pawned them at a nearby pawn shop before being stopped by officers. One of the officers suffered minor injuries during the arrest. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Ralph EDON, was arrested.
