Jan. 14 People’s Caravan for the Environment in Richmond

In 2017 the People’s Caravan held many Die-In/Live-Ins for Medicaid Expansion. We’re at it again, but this time it is a People’s Caravan for the Environment. The Die-In will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 14th at 2 p.m. at the Bell Tower in Richmond.

The Die-In part of this rally is a plea for people to pay attention to the Climate Change. It is real, it is happening all around us. The consequences are life threatening.

YOU COULD DIE BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO WATER TO DRINK

YOU COULD DIE BECAUSE YOU COULD NOT BREATHE THE AIR

YOU COULD DIE IN A WILD FIRE CAUSED BY CLIMATE CHANGE

YOU COULD DIE IN A FLOOD CAUSED BY VIOLENT WEATHER DUE TO CLIMATE CHANGE

YOU COULD DIE IN A PIPELINE EXPLOSION

We could go on and on. Actions have consequences and these are just a few of the consequences everyone will face if we don’t work toward a green future. The climate is going to get you no matter where you live, or how much money you have.

If we sound like alarmists it’s because we are truly alarmed by what is happening and the fact that so many people are ignoring it. Our hope is that this event today put on by just an ordinary citizens who care about everyone will move you to reach out to the Virginia Legislature to take meaningful action now.

So let’s flip from the Die-In to the Live-In and hear from people who have a great answer to the future THE GREEN NEW DEAL VIRGINIA. Those speaking include Prince William Delegate Elizabeth Guzman and Delegate Sam Rasoul and Lee Williams, co-director of the Green New Deal Virginia.
