In the wee hours…Police called out after 3 a.m. for reported strangulation

Strangulation | Domestic Assault and Battery – On April 26, 2020 at 3:38AM, Prince William County police officers responded to the Rolling Brook Apartments located in the 1700 block of River Bend Way in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic, according to MPO Renee Carr, police department representative. The victim, a 22-year-old woman, reported to police that she and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated.

Off. Carr reported that during the encounter, the accused struck the victim multiple times before pushing her into a wall and grabbing her throat. At one point during the altercation, the accused attempted to strike her in the head with a metal object. The parties separated and the accused fled prior to police arriving at the apartment. The victim reported minor injuries.

Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants of arrest for the accused, identified as Kenneth Uzoma-Chukuwum ASOEGWU. Attempts to locate the suspect have been unsuccessful, police said.

Kenneth Uzoma-Chukuwum ASOEGWU, 36, of the 11700 South Laurel Dr. in Laurel, MD
Described as a black male, 5’8”, 155lbs., with black hair and brown eyes
Wanted for strangulation, attempted malicious wounding and domestic assault & battery
