Hay Market Lodge #313 of Freemasons will mark the 100th anniversary of its Feb. 16, 1911 chartering on Saturday, June 18 at 2 p.m.
The Grand Master of Masons in Virginia will lead the celebration at the lodge at 6713 Jefferson Street in the Town of Haymarket, the white stucco two-story building (shown at right) where the group has met since 1915.
The Hay Market lodge, whose roots go back to 1799, is “one of 350 lodges in Virginia and thousands across America. Members come from all races, religions, persuasions and walks of life to work with others as a fraternity of men to build a better world by building better men” through volunteerism,” according to lodge member Bill Robinson.
