Flooding stops some afternoon school buses ; parents are to pick up students at school

There will be no afternoon school bus service on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 on some roads in western Prince William County that remain closed due to flooding. See roads affected on the list below.

Students on buses that normally travel these roads will be kept at school for parents/guardians to pick up. The schools affected are Brentsville District High School, Marsteller Middle School, and Nokesville Elementary School. The office of Transportation Services will continue to work with the Prince William County Police Department to monitor changing road conditions, according to Irene Cromer, supervisor of community relations for Prince William County public schools.

Areas with no afternoon bus service are:

• Aden Road between VA 234 and Fleetwood Drive

• Aden Road between Marsteller Drive and VA 28

• Hazelwood Drive

• Old Church Road between Bridwell and Oxfordshire

• Bristow Road between Windy Hill Drive and Lucasville Road

• Valley View between Crockett Lane and Trenton Court

• Trenton Court
