Firearms involved in half of the Police Department’s investigations over the weekend

MPO Renee Carr of the Prince William County Police Department’s Public Information staff issued the following report of incidents and arrests on Monday, Oct. 5, 2020:

Incidents
Brandishing –
On Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020 at 5:10PM, officers responded to the 8600 block of Sudley Rd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 51-year-old man, reported to police that he was walking in the parking lot near the area when an unknown man, later identified as the accused, confronted him from his vehicle.

The victim continued walking when the accused brandished a firearm and began yelling at the victim. During the encounter, the accused left the firearm in his vehicle before approaching the victim and striking him. After a brief struggle, a female acquaintance of the accused’s intervened and the parties separated.

The accused and the acquaintance fled the area in a vehicle. The victim reported minor injuries and was treated by rescue personnel who responded to the scene. Following the investigation, officers identified the accused as Seth Jacob REID and obtained warrants for his arrest. Attempts to locate the accused were unsuccessful.

Described as a white male, 5’9”, 215lbs, with black hair and brown eyes
Wanted for brandishing and assault & battery

Residential Burglary – On Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020 at 5:25PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 8200 block of Rainwater Cl. in Manassas (20111) to investigate a burglary. A resident of the home reported to police that the burglary occurred sometime between 12:00PM and 4:30PM. The investigation revealed that entry was made through the door of the rented room. A gaming system, an Apple watch and a tablet were reported missing.

Arrests
Strangulation –
On Friday, Oct. 2, 2020 at 12:35PM, officers responded to the Hampton Inn located at 16959 Old Stage Rd. in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a domestic. The victim, a 25-year-old woman, reported to police that she and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated when the accused struck the victim.

During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim’s throat before a hotel employee intervened. The accused fled the room and the police were contacted. While investigating, officers located the accused and detained him. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Tyrell LOVE, was arrested.

Arrested on Oct. 2: Tyrell LOVE, 21, of 2412 McNair St. in Wilson, North Carolina
Charged with strangulation and assault & battery
Court Date: October 26, 2020 | Bond: A $10,000 Secured Bond

Shooting within a Residential Dwelling – On October 3 at 11:21PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 11400 block of Moore Dr. in Manassas (20111) to investigate a shots fired call. Residents reported to police that gunshots were heard in the above area.

The investigation revealed that one of the occupants of the home, identified as the accused, fired rounds from within the home through the rear glass door which was found damaged. A search warrant was served at the residence and shell casings were collected. No injuries or additional property damage were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Joel MILLER, was arrested.
