Feb. 19 townhouse fire in Woodbridge displaces two children and two adults

On Monday, February 19, 2024 at 3:36 PM, Prince William County Fire and Rescue units were dispatched to the 5000 blk of Lambsgate Lane (Woodbridge) for a caller reporting a townhouse on fire. Crews arrived with smoke showing from the front of the structure, according to Matt Smolsky, Assistant Chief and Fire Marshal. The occupants had returned home and discovered smoke throughout the residence, he added,

Smolsky said the fire was quickly extinguished.  No injuries were reported. Two (2) adults and two (2) children were displaced. 

The Building Official declared the structure unsafe to occupy because of the home’s moderate damage. The Fire Marshal’s Office determined the cause of the fire was the improper use of a battery charger.

PW Police report passenger dies from injuries sustained in an April 15 traffic collision

The investigation revealed the driver of a 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 Pickup truck was traveling westbound on Yates Ford Rd. approaching Evans Ford Rd. when a 1993 Buick Roadmaster traveling eastbound on Yates Ford Rd. entered the intersection in front of the truck’s path of travel. The truck and Roadmaster collided within the intersection. The driver and female passenger of the Roadmaster were transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
