Father goes missing after allegedly throwing 7-year-old child

Felony Child Abuse | Abduction | Domestic Related – On Friday, April 2, 2021 at 9:45AM, officers responded to investigate a domestic that was reported to have occurred at the Haven Woodbridge apartments located in the 13900 block of Longwood Manor Ct. in Woodbridge (22191) at approximately 7:00PM on April 1, according to Master Police Offocer Renee Carr, public information officer for Prince William County Police Department.

The investigation revealed that the victim, a 28-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation earlier in the day. When the accused entered the above residence, he grabbed and threw their 7-year-old son, on more than one occasion. Another resident of the apartment intervened and separated the accused from the child.

The accused then grabbed the victim and forced her into a bedroom. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim and refused to let her leave the room. Eventually the victim was able to separate from the accused and the police were notified. Both victims reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Jose Nelson MARTINEZ. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

Jose Nelson MARTINEZ, 29, of Woodbridge
Described as a Hispanic male, about 5’2”, 180lbs., with black hair and brown eyes
Wanted for felony child abuse, abduction, and domestic assault & battery
