Elementary robotics competition at Gar-Field Saturday, Nov. 21

Prince William County elementary school students will design and build a robot in FIRST LEGO League (FLL) this Saturday, Nov. 21 at Gar-Field High School on Smoketown Road in Woodbridge. The competition is free and open to the public to come out and see what the “new cool” called robotics is.

Each school in Prince William County Public Schools has at least one robotics team, if not more.

Teams complete on eight different platforms in elementary, middle and high school teams. Our robotics teams compete on land, underwater and in space in competitions that are local, state-wide, national, and international with many awards being bought back to the county.

Robotics allows students to experience hands-on building, programming and problem-solving that is part of the exciting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) opportunities in PWCS.
