Didlake, Gregory, Merchant Kirby to be honored at Hylton Center’s 4th gala April 5

Three local notables, Didlake, Inc., John O. Gregory and Carol Merchant Kirby will be honored for their leadership in bringing the Hylton Center to Prince William County and the Northern Virginia region on April 5.

The occasion is the Hylton Performing Arts Center’s 4th Anniversary Gala at 6 p.m. This annual event raises money for the Sen. Charles J. Colgan Community Arts Benefit Fund. This enables local arts organizations to perform at the Hylton Center and make it their artistic home.

The black tie optional event will kick off with a reception in the Didlake Grand Foyer. Jazz music performed by musicians from George Mason University’s School of Music will be featured. An elegant dinner will be presented at 7 p.m. on stage in Merchant Hall, followed by a tribute to the honorees.

Then guests have the option of dancing to the big band sounds of Swing Machine in the Didlake Grand Foyer or listening to – and even joining in on – jazz favorites performed by the Darden Purcell Quartet in a jazz club setting in the Gregory Family Theater.

Co-chairing the event will be usan Allen, First Lady of Virginia, 1994 -1998; Nathan Gilbert of Fauquier Bank; and John M. Jacquemin, president of the Jacquemin Family Foundation, Inc.
