DC man arrested in connection with Minnieville Rd. homicide on April 29

Murder Investigation *ARREST – On May 10, detectives from the Prince William County Police Department’s Homicide Unit arrested a suspect in connection to the death of a 23-year-old Washington D.C. man, identified as Angelo Kadro BLAKENEY. The victim’s body was discovered on April 29 in the area of Minnieville Rd. and Alps Dr. in Woodbridge. Evidence collected at the scene ultimately connected the suspect to the victim’s death. Following the investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the accused, identified as Justin Orlando MYRICK, and a search warrant for his D.C. residence. Prince William County detectives, with the assistance of the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington D.C., located and apprehended the accused at his northeast D.C. area home. The accused remains incarcerated in Washington D.C. and will be extradited to Virginia.

Homicide Investigation *CASE RECLASSIFIED | VICTIM IDENTIFIED [Previously Released] – On April 29, an autopsy was completed on the deceased body that was found along the woodline near the area of Minnieville Rd. and Alps Dr. in Woodbridge earlier that morning. Detectives with the Homicide Unit have confirmed the identity of the deceased as Angelo Kadro BLAKENEY, 23, of Washington D.C. The deceased had no known ties to the Prince William County area. Based upon the results of the autopsy and the preliminary investigation into the death, detectives are now investigating this case as a homicide. More information about this investigation will be released when available.

Death Investigation [Previously Released] – On April 29 at 6:41AM, officers responded to the area of Minnieville Rd. and Alps Dr. in Woodbridge (22913) for a dead body found in the woods by a citizen. Officers arrived on scene and found one adult male victim. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit are actively investigating. The incident is isolated to the woodline and there are no public safety concerns at this time.
