Employees threatened in Woodbridge drug store

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery – On January 10 at 9:38PM, officers responded to the 4400 block of Welsh Ln in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 29-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was walking in the above area when she was approached by two unknown men. During the encounter, one of the men brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property.  The suspects took the victim’s purse then got into a vehicle driven by an unknown person and fled the area. No injuries were reported. The investigation continues.

Black male, between 18 & 19 years of age, 5’11’’, 150lbs with a thin build and black hair
Last seen wearing a white shirt and dark pants

Black male, between 18 & 19 years of age, 5’09’’, 150lbs with a medium build and black hair
Last seen wearing a red jacket and dark pants

There is no description available for the driver of the suspect vehicle

Strong Armed Robbery – On January 11 at 1:17AM, officers responded to the CVS located at 13600 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. An employee reported to police that two unknown men were in the store concealing merchandise. When employees attempted to stop the suspects, one of the suspects verbally threatened then pushed an employee. The suspects eventually fled the area in a white sedan. No injuries were reported. The investigation continues.

**ARRESTS**

Abduction | Strangulation – On January 10 at 5:25AM, detectives with the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate an assault which occurred at a residence located in the 1300 block of East Longview Dr in Woodbridge (22191) earlier that morning. The victim, a 21-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused held the victim down and choked her. When the victim attempted to leave, the accused prevented her from leaving. The victim was eventually able to get away from the accused and contact police. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without further incident.

Charged with abduction and strangulation

Malicious Wounding – On January 11 at 1:02AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1300 block of Bayside Ave in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a fight. When officers arrived, they located the victim, a 25-year-old male of Woodbridge, suffering from a laceration to the face.  The investigation revealed that the victim and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal dispute that turned physical. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim in the face with a glass bottle causing a laceration. The victim was transported to a local area hospital for further treatment. The accused was subsequently arrested without incident.
