County replaces website

Prince William County Government’s new website – pwcva.gov – is live!

The County completed a review of the existing website, as well as comments that users provided over time, and decided it was time for a website replacement. A cross-department team collaborated on the new website replacement project for several months to ensure the County provides a product that is user-focused and provides the information residents, business owners, and other stakeholders need.

“We are very excited about the launch of the county’s new website,” said County Executive Chris Martino. “Our website is often the first impression many people have of our county. This new site mirrors our strategic vision of being a community of choice. We recognize that now, more than ever, it’s critical to have a website that is engaging and connects our community members with their local government.”

The new site is easy to navigate, has a fresh look and feel, requires fewer clicks, provides an intelligent, robust search engine, and is faster, mobile responsive, and compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Content is presented clearly with adequate spacing, images, and icons to tell the County’s story and provide details the community needs about programs, services, tools, and resources. To ensure a smooth transition, existing pages will redirect to the new site.

The Department of Information Technology and the Office of Communications teamed up for the project.

“Prince William County is excited to launch the new website and hopes the public enjoys using it and finds the website an easy to navigate, helpful resource,” said Director of Communications Sherrie Johnson.

“With this new website, we are bringing innovative cloud-based technology to the Community, making good on our commitment to enhancing economic growth, accommodate mobile users, and make services easily accessible through modern IT,” said the Director of the Department of Information Technology Rob Mancini. “With a cleaner and more contemporary design, we are giving our visitors, residents, and businesses the best experience possible when engaging with the County. This site, along with the supporting IT and infrastructure services, is a critical and timely extension in our IT investments and commitment to excellence.”
