County police investigte attempted crimes

Attempted Armed Robbery – On Tuesday, Jan. 5 at 5:30PM, Prince William County police officers responded to investigate an attempted robbery that was reported to have occurred in the 8000 block of Rodes Dr. in Manassas (20109) earlier that morning.

The 32-year-old male victim reported to police that while walking in the above area, he was approached by an unknown masked man. A verbal altercation ensued before the suspect brandished a knife and demanded the victim’s property. The victim did not comply and was able to disarm the suspect. Eventually the parties separated. The victim left the area and eventually contacted the police. Minor injuries were reported by the victim. No property was reported missing.

Suspect Description:
A black male, 5’5”, approximately 145lbs. Last seen wearing a black flat rim hat, a blue surgical-style mask, jeans and carrying a red hover- board

Attempted Commercial Burglary – On Tuesday, Jan. 5 at 12:09PM, Prince William County police officers responded to the El Pulgarcito Restaurant at 1306 Horner Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary.

The owner reported to police that entry was attempted into the business sometime between 11p.m. on Jan. 4 and 9 a.m. on Jan. 5. The investigation revealed that a cinder block was used to damage a rear window. No entry was made into the business and no property was reported missing
