Body of Bristow murder suspect found behind T. Clay Wood school

Murder Investigation – On October 19th at 6:25AM, officers responded to the 12700 block of Lednock Way in Bristow (20136) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed that the victim and the suspect were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated.

During the encounter the suspect shot the victim before fleeing the area in a vehicle. The victim was transported to an area hospital where she died as a result of her injuries.

Through the investigation, detectives from the Homicide Unit were able to determine that the involved parties knew one another and that the incident was domestic related. Detectives quickly identified the suspect as Edward Hale and subsequently obtained a warrant for his arrest. This is Prince William County’s 4th murder of 2014.

On October 20th at 8:18AM, officers responded to T. Wood Elementary School located at 10600 Kettle Run Rd in Bristow (20136) to investigate a suspicious vehicle. School staff reported to police that a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle involved in the murder was unoccupied and parked in the lot of the school.

The elementary school and neighboring Patriot High School were immediately secured. Multiple police officers and other resources including helicopters from Fairfax County Police and U.S. Customs and Border Protection, as well as, police K-9’s and a bloodhound from Haymarket Police were used to search the school property and neighboring areas.

Shortly after 11:00AM, a helicopter spotted a man’s body on the baseball fields behind the elementary school. Officers located and confirmed the body was that of Edward Hale Jr., the suspect involved in the murder. The suspect appeared to have suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Identified:
The suspect was identified as Edward Everett HALE Jr., 35, of Glen Burnie, MD

The victim was identified as Jessica Leigh WILSON, 31, of Bristow
