Arrests made in cases involving carnal knowledge and indecent exposure; burglaries reported

Incidents and arrests released by Prince William County VA Police Department on Friday, November 21, 2014:

**ARRESTS**

Carnal Knowledge – On November 20th, detectives from the Special Victims Unit began an investigation into a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 1400 block of Hope Ct in Woodbridge (22191). The investigation revealed that the victim, a 14 year old female juvenile of Woodbridge, had been involved in an ongoing sexual relationship with the accused since August of 2014. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Charged with 5 counts of carnal knowledge

Indecent Exposure | Obscene Sexual Display – On November 17th at 11:58AM, officers responded to investigate an indecent exposure which was reported to have occurred in the area of Gideon Dr and Smoketown Rd in Woodbridge (22193). The victim, a 38 year old woman of Triangle, reported to police that she was stopped at the above intersection when an unknown vehicle pulled beside her. The victim then observed the driver, and only occupant of the vehicle, lower the passenger side window. At that point, the victim noticed that the driver was exposing himself and making an obscene sexual display. The victim was able to provide police with a description and license plate information of the vehicle. Officers were able to determine that the vehicle, a black Honda CRV, was registered to the accused and that the same vehicle was reported to have been involved in a similar encounter reported earlier in the day. In that incident, the victim, a 39 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to officers that a black Honda CRV with a similar looking driver pull next to her while stopped in the area of Old Bridge Rd and Mohican Dr in Woodbridge (22192). As with the later incident, the driver lowered the passenger side window to get the attention of the victim. As the victim looked over towards the suspect vehicle, she observed the driver expose himself while making an obscene display. The victim pulled away from the other vehicle and immediately contacted police. Following the investigation, the accused was connected to both incidents and was subsequently charged.

**UPDATES**

Murder Investigation *UPDATE – On November 18th, detectives from the Homicide Unit identified the shooter involved in the murder of Christopher Weaver which occurred in the 13400 block of Keating Dr in Woodbridge on November 16th. The investigation revealed that the suspect, identified as Bryan PATTERSON, shot and killed Weaver and wounded a 15 year old male juvenile following a verbal altercation in front of the victim’s residence. After the shooting, PATTERSON fled the area with another man, identified as Christopher COWARD. This incident was quickly determined to have stemmed from a neighborhood dispute which occurred earlier in the evening at home on nearby Kingsman Dr. The COWARD suspect was quickly identified earlier in the week as being present and involved in the shooting of both victims. He was located and arrested on November 17th following a vehicle stop on N. George Mason Dr in Arlington County by officers of the Arlington County Police Department. This arrest was withheld pending identification of the shooter in the incident. On November 19th, detectives obtained a warrant against PATTERSON in connection to this murder. On November 20th, detectives received a tip that PATTERSON was at an address on Morning Glory Ct in Manassas. Police surrounded the location and PATTERSON was arrested without incident. No other suspects are actively being sought in this case.

Homicide Investigation [Previously Released] – On November 16th at 12:09AM, officers responded to the 13400 block of Keating Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting. Officers arrived in the area and located two victims, a 19 year old man and a 15 year male juvenile – both of Woodbridge, outside of a home suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to an area hospital where the adult died as a result of his injuries. The remaining juvenile victim is expected to recover. Detectives from the Homicide Unit have determined this was not a random incident. No arrests have been made. The investigation continues. This is Prince William County’s 6th homicide of 2014.

The deceased victim has been identified as Christopher Nathaniel WEAVER, 19, of Woodbridge

**INCIDENTS**

Residential Burglary – On November 20th at 12:12PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1500 block of Walnut St in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an alarm activation. Officers arrived at the home and discovered a rear door had been forced open. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:00PM and 12:12PM. The investigation revealed that a safe located in the home was pried opened. No property was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On November 20th at 11:57AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 17600 block of Four Seasons Dr in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:00PM on November 17th and 11:57AM on November 20th. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through a secured basement level window or door. Jewelry was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On November 18th at 7:24PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 7200 block of Prices Cove Pl in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 1:15PM and 5:15PM. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the home through a lower level window which was forced open. Jewelry was reported missing.
